MEDICAL FILM SCANNING

At Bayland Technologies, Inc. we are proud to offer a medical film scanning service. We will scan your old archives of medical films (including, but not limited to, X-ray, MRI, CT, ultrasound and mammography films) into a fully searchable digital DICOM format for viewing in your PACS or EMR system. Sample scanning can be provided to you at no cost for verification purposes.

THE DIGITIZING PROCESS

Step 1: Storage
Upon arrival, the patient jackets will be securely stored.

Step 2: Sorting
The sorting department will take the patient jackets and verify the patient’s information. The films will then be sorted into two groups based on their age. The first group comprises all films that are at least 7 years old, while the other group contains the films that are more recent than this.

Step 3: Input
From there, the data entry department will pick up the films and input the patient information into the PACS, verifying again for input accuracy.

Step 4: Scanning
The films will then be scanned, adjusted and attached to the patient’s profile. Upon completion, the sorting department will verify the patient’s information in the PACS system for the third time, ensuring that all studies and films have been scanned properly.
